I agree with the roster other than one minor change I would make. I don’t know if I would have gaudin on my roster. I think I would replace him with gouzman. We already have a long relief guy in aceves. With chamberlian and hughes in bullpen starters won’t need to go much more than 5-6 innings. So I don’t see a lot of use for him. Gouzman on the otherhand would give us more flexibility with gardner. gouzman could be used as a pinch runner only but that would allow us to play gardner if we wanted to for defensive switch or match ups in place of melky. Plus if you have watched melky play all year he is a much better player with the threat of gardner playing his position. With gardner being the only pinch runner type player I think he will have less opportunities to play in other roles.

I don’t think Gaudin is in for long relief…There is an off day after almost each game, you don’t need a long reliever. Even if you get 4 innings out of a starter and are still kind of in the game, you can piece it together with Marte + Aceves + Coke + Roberstson in the 5th and 6th, Joba 7th, Hughes 8th, Mo 9th and 10th if necessary, and Gaudin 11th and 12th. And then the day off, and everyone is ready to come back strong the next day…3 catchers, really, I get the advantage, but its only worth it if you bring along Guzman to actually pinch run

All this talk about Playoff Roster…….if a player does not
make the roster, what is the impact on his salary? Since he isnt on a Major League roster, guess he doesn’t get credit for days of service? and what about his pay? …….does he get paid as a minor league player?

I would not have added Guzman. He is light with the stick and would only be there to run. He didn’t look that much better than anyone else. He almost got picked a couple of times, in fact. Maybe Pena for a pitcher but otherwise a good job by Cash and Joe

You can never have enough pitching. The Yanks have enough bats to get the job done. This series will be about the Bombers starting pitching. C.C. and A.J. got lot’s of money for this very moment. Let’s see what they can do.
